Plassenburg wine press in turbulence

It was clear that the general meeting of the plassenburg wine press house on saturday at the geuther inn was not going to be an easy affair after the turbulence of the past few days: shortly beforehand, the entire supervisory board, headed by uwe tauber, had announced their resignation.
The reason: unbridgeable differences of opinion on the location of the plassenburg winery. The board of management, headed by friedrich rosch, wants to give up the outdated production facility at the entrance to bad berneck, which has become too small, and move to the vacant production hall of the popp company in kulmbacher strabe – just a stone's throw away on the other side of the main river. The company urgently needed to optimize its processes, reduce its workload and use energy-saving machines: "in the old popp hall, we were able to produce economically on around 2200 square meters", said rosch, who regretted that no joint solution had been found.
The previous supervisory board lacked a viable and convincing concept for the relocation favored by the management board and for a sustainable sales structure. The winery would do better to invest moderately in its existing location and in line with its financial situation.
